JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

QC Manufacturing, Inc. is a dynamic and innovative high-tech manufacturing company located in Temecula, CA. We manufacture QuietCool ventilation products. With substantial growth across the country, we are looking for an engineer that can help work with our team to take our products to the next level.

We are looking for a skilled Machine Shop Manager that is a team player and can bring their skills and talents to make an immediate impact.

Essential Functions

  • Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
  • Program CNC Machines
  • Manage machinists to ensure daily goals are met.
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of the job
  • Select appropriate machines (e.g., lathes) and positions or load material for a job
  • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
  • Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
  • Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair damages on tooling.
  • Daily use of micrometers, vernier calipers, depth gages, and dial indicators.
  • Ability to machine and program parts using: manual toolroom machinery as well as CNC mills, Lathes, Grinders, and etc.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations such as CAL/OSHA
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Establish clear and visual workflow for incoming, work in process and outgoing product.
  • Establish clear and visual metrics for efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Conduct employee training related to equipment operations, processes, and safety procedures.
  • Supervise employees, including issuing work assignments; maintain safety standards and providing training when necessary
  • Schedule machines according to workload throughout the shop
  • Ensure proper paperwork is available for set-up and operation of machines.
  • Analyze operational issues in conjunction with Quality and Engineering and determine root cause and corrective action.
  • Ensure production programs are running at optimum performance.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following 5s guidelines
  • Maximize production objectives, maintain quality, and meet output requirements within a safe environment
  • Develop and implement SOPs work instructions etc.
  • Perform root cause and corrective action for defective product
  • Collaborate with Engineers for program and tooling improvements
  • Ensure equipment preventative maintenance is completed according to schedule
  • Ensure tools and gauges are calibrated and fit for use
  • Ensure production reporting/documentation is being completed accurately
  • Custom machine assembly

Competencies

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, tool design, use of CNC machines, etc.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Problem-solving ability
  • High level communication skills both verbal and nonverbal.
  • Willingness (Ability) to occasionally work late shifts or long hours.

Work Environment

This job operates in machine shop environment. Although some elements require working in an office. This role mainly will be in the machine shop. You are regularly exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. These sounds come from machines and equipment that are constantly running. Can be exposed to hazardous coolants and lubricants. While working the machine shop all required PPE must be followed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to lift a maximum of 100 pounds unassisted, waist high, up to 10 feet away, and up to140 pounds of weight assisted.

Required Education and Experience

  • Trade School, Certifications, or relevant training
  • 10+ years of experience Programing CNC Lathes, Mills, Grinders, and or etc.
  • 10+ years of experience with CNC machinery and conventional machining
  • 10+years of Experience with CNC mills, lathes, and grinding
  • 3-5 Years of experience in a manager role
  • 10+ years using CAD, Mastercam, or equivalent software
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Proficient knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
  • 10+ years of experience reading blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Good at math with analytical abilities
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
  • 3-5 years of experience using Solidworks or equivalent software
  • Forklift experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of plastic injection molding machinery methods.
  • A working knowledge of stamping tool and dies
