Summary/Objective

We are looking for a passionate IoT Technical Project Manager to design, develop and maintain software solutions. The successful candidate will be able to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications/operating systems. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.

• Project Manage new development of smart home automation products
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to design smart home automation solutions that align with customer needs and technical feasibility.
• Define the architecture of interconnected devices, protocols, communication channels, and data flows.
• Manage the integration of various smart devices and sensors into a cohesive ecosystem.
• Ensure compatibility across different manufacturers, protocols, and technologies for seamless user experiences.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend IoT technologies, platforms, and tools for smart home automation projects.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in the IoT and home automation sectors.
• Oversee the development of prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate the functionality and interoperability of smart home solutions.
• Address technical issues and iterate on designs based on user feedback and testing results.
• Implement robust security measures to safeguard smart home devices and users’ personal data.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Focus on creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for controlling and managing smart devices.
• Gather user feedback to continuously improve the usability and accessibility of the smart home automation system.
• Manage Beta testing roll outs
• Collaborate with device manufacturers, suppliers, and partners to source components and technologies for smart home solutions.
• Manage relationships, contracts, and expectations to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, technical documentation, and user manuals.
• Provide regular project status updates and reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress and potential challenges.
• Using software’s related to App development, BLE, WiFi, Cloud Services, Web interface, API, and voice assistance platforms
• App development and maintenance for iOS and Android
• Integrate software with existing systems
• Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
• Document and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Protect operations by keeping information confidentially
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
• Serve as a subject matter expert
• Comply with project plans and industry standards

Competencies

• Proven work experience in smart home automation (3-5 years’ experience)
• Hands on experience in designing interactive applications for iOS, Android, Web Apps, Cloud servers, API, and voice assistant platforms
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework
• Experience with test-driven development
• Ability to document requirements and specifications
• Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes
• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct personnel supervisory duties.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds in normal testing situations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position regularly requires normal office hours.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area and overnight travel.

Required Education and Experience

• The employee is required to have completed four years of college level schooling and received a Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering. Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in smart home automation.
