How to Operate the Controls for a Whole House Fan

Controls for a whole house fan are relatively simple. Since a whole house fan can do just one singular thing, the control mimics that. You can turn the cooling system on and off with a switch that is wired into a designated place on the wall.

Quiet Cool’s whole house fan controls also allow for a high or low feature where you can decide how powerful you want the fan. You can also control how long your whole house fan will be running: one hour, two hours, four hours, eight hours, or HOLD (which is set by holding the timer button for three seconds). Timers are included in only certain whole house fans, however and the controls are as follows;

Single Speed Controls – 8 Hour Timer

Two Speed Controls – 8 Hour Timer and HI-LOW-OFF Switch

Three Speed Controls – 8 Hour Timer and Double 3-Way Switch

Quiet Cool also has a wireless option where you can control all of these things on your phone. It has a more specific way to control how long the system is on (from anywhere from 30 minutes to eight hours),it  is incredibly simple as you can choose any fan you may have in your home, and a way to decide if you want the fan on high or low.

All you need to do for this simplified way to control your whole house fan is purchase one Wi-Fi Smart Control hub per motorhead in your QuietCool system. Simply install the hub over the existing handy-box or directly on the motorhead and match the speed wires and the power wires. You then just need to get the app and your wireless controls should be working perfectly.

So, whether you are controlling it from inside the house or from the inside of your phone, most whole house fan controls are spectacularly simple and easy to use.
