QuietCool Advanced Whole House Fans vs Traditional Whole House Fans

QuietCool is becoming synonymous with the term, “whole house fan”. However, whole house fans are not a new product and have actually been around for over fifty years. Over this surprisingly long amount of time, QuietCool has made some major progressions in the technology. One may ask, what exactly are the differences between the old systems, and the QuietCool system that is taking the nation by storm?

Noise Level of Whole House Fans

The most noticeable difference is the noise level. Traditional whole house fans sound similar to a helicopter whirring around in your home. This can make having standard dinner conversations difficult. Homeowners with traditional whole house fans usually cannot stand the noise for more than a few minutes, and are forced to shut the system off before it has cooled the house. This interrupts the air circulation, and causes the mass of the home to heat right back up again. Because they are whisper quiet, QuietCool whole house fans do not have this problem. This allows homeowners to run their systems for hours at a time, actually cooling down the structure of the home! This translates to less A/C usage, slashing A/C related costs up to 90%!

Aesthetics of Whole House Fans

Another major difference is the way the traditional whole house fans look. These outdated models have shutter louver systems, that are aesthetically displeasing to look at, (homeowners look right into their attic allowing dust into the home) and also do not stop heat transference from the attic into the home. The QuietCool system solves this problem using our barometric-pressurized gravity dampers. When the system is turned on, the gravity damper doors are blown open allowing a clear path for air to travel into the attic. When the system is turned off, gravity kicks in and allows the damper doors to gently close, creating a tight seal with a resistance value (R value) of 5. The best part is the only thing visible from the living space is the white egg-crate style grille that looks great on any ceiling.

Remember, if it doesn’t say QuietCool, it’s just another fan.
