Why QuietCool Whole House Fans are Better Than Their “Competition”

The differences between other whole house fans and QuietCool may seem minute but there are actually several significant and important differences between them. Now, not all other whole house fans are the same but they certainly do not have all of the following in one system, as QuietCool does.

Hanger straps

QuietCool’s hanger straps are a paramount feature and one that most contractors do not take for granted. They are first and foremost needed to lift the fan off the ground and avoid a loud, rumbling noise that would be present if the fan were not suspended. These straps are also incredibly easy to use. You simply need to nail one side into a wooden beam in the attic and wrap the other side around and use one of the precut holes in the strap to attach it to your previous nail. This process usually takes around 30-90 seconds and makes installation just that much easier.

All the parts in the box come preassembled. There are no tricky screwing or troublesome construction. All QuietCool parts are easily fashioned together and utilize intelligent technology to make the best and easiest to manage construction. Other companies attempt to cut costs on shipping and have pieces separated. This saves them space in the box as the pieces can lay on each other. This may save the corporation money but it costs the consumer time.

Patented Ducting

QuietCool cannot be replicated and uses insulated ducting to dampen noise. This works by allowing some of the sounds and air to leak out the sides of the porous material hence lowering the amount of air that is pushed out the fan blades. Imagine a strainer, the water moves through the sides of a strainer but still catches what it needs to for the food not to fall out. QuietCool whole house fans work similarly. They still catch all the air needed but then strain the excess air out the sides for an optimized sound level. No other whole house fans can do this.

No frame cutting fits 16 to 24 on center

There is absolutely no frame cutting and these systems while they all fit 16-24 on center. This means no excessive installation process or worrisome structural changes to the home.

No moving parts aside from motor

The reason systems break is usually due to their moving pieces. In QuietCool whole house fans, the only moving part is the motor. That is what spins the blade and that is normally what needs to be fixed. This is why QuietCool has an industry-leading 10-15-year warranty for the motors of every whole house fan that is manufactured.

Most of these motors are the electronically commutated kind. This means their efficiency dwarfs that of traditional motors and are far superior at pulling air out of a home. It is able to accomplish what other whole house fan motors can not by being completely brushless. This not only reduces the number of pieces in the motor but allows the motor to run faster than others.

All pieces fit through damper door cut out

To expand on the ease of installation, every single piece in QuietCool whole house fan systems fits through the damper door cut out. These means that you will not have to lug the entire fan head up to the attic or awkwardly drag the fan through it. Other whole house fans have larger fan heads than damper doors which causes some contractors or DIYers to have to force the entire fan head through the attic. This is not only dangerous for the installer but for the fan and attic as well. Being able to fit the entire fan through that damper door cutout is a

Foam seal vs rubber

On those damper doors, most other whole house fans use a rubber seal. This means when the damper doors close, they also bounce back up and make an awful noise. QuietCool damper doors shut into a foam sealed space that forms to rest the doors perfectly and memorize the formation of the doors as well.
