Which Whole House Fan is Best Suited For Me?

Most would believe the choices for what whole house fan would best fit a home would be relatively small. It is a simple machine that does something very specific to cool a home. How could there be a wide selection when the product is so easily understandable and efficiently made? The options for a whole house fan, however, are surprisingly ample.

Quiet Cool alone has four sub categories worth of whole house fans. The Classic model, the Energy Saver model, the Trident Pro model, and the Stealth Pro model. Each ultimately accomplishes the same thing but in different ways and with different accessories.

The Classic model is very similar to the Trident Pro model. This cooling system, however, is perfect for homeowners who plan on doing the installation themselves and do not require a contractor to install the system for them. The Classic line also comes with a permanent split capacitor motor and a R5 insulated damper system.

The Energy Saver is a model made for people who hope to save the most money over the long term and leave a considerably smaller ecological footprint. This model has much fewer moving parts so the chances of a possible malfunction are far lower. This line is also great for homeowners who plan on doing the installation portion themselves. The Energy Savers comes with an R5 insulated damper system and an Electronically Commutated AC/DC Brushless Motor.

Trident Pro line is one of two lines that make up Quiet Cool’s Pro series of fans only available to licensed contractors through the authorized wholesale locations. The Trident Pro line consists of several models ranging from 1,500 CFM all the way to 7,000 CFM which boasts a much stronger motor than the previous models. The Trident comes with a permanent split capacitor motor and a R5 insulated damper system just like the Classic model but with a 15-year warranty.

Finally, The Stealth Pro line are the second units that are only available for purchase through one of the authorized wholesalers which can only be purchased by a licensed contractor. The major difference between this fan and the former is the electronically commutated (ECM) AC/DC brushless motor. This motor contains a microchip that allows the motor to cycle from alternating current, to direct current. Thus, saving money on electricity and allowing these to be the most efficient of the four. These come with a R5 insulated damper system and an Electronically Commutated AC/DC Brushless Motor.

So, as you can see, there are many different options for whole house fans. None are considerably more suited for the majority of the population, it is much more about preference than better or worse. Because, the whole house fan that is best for you, is the one you most identify with wanting.
