How it Works
Our Whole House Fans utilize what already exists to create something offered nowhere else. Open two or three windows a few inches wide, turn on your QuietCool Whole House Fan, and experience fresh, cool air replacing your indoor air in 3-4 minutes. Your Whole House Fan will quietly pull air through the windows, into the attic, and out the attic vents giving you a cost effective way to keep your home cool and healthy.
Clean Air for the Indoor Generation
According to the American Lung Association, homes are like lungs, they need to breathe to make sure that fresh air comes in and dirty air goes out. To keep your home safe you have to introduce fresh, outdoor air to dilute these indoor pollutants. Turning on your QuietCool Whole House Fan means you no longer have to recycle your air, you can let your home breathe.

Vertical Adapter
Don’t have a conventional attic space above your living area? Utilize a Vertical Adapter and cool your home with a side attic. These adapters were created as some homes do not have attics above their living area. Some homes throughout the country have a side attic against their wall and only enough attic space for our Whole House Fans in this area. When this is the case, these homes can use a Vertical Adapter so our R5 Damper Doors can still operate successfully while offering the entire home cooling and comfort.

Whole House Fan Sizing Formula
We typically calculate the number of “Cubic Feet per Minute,” or CFM, per square foot of living space as 2, 2.5, or 3. A good system would be provided by 2 CFM, a better system by 2.5 CFM, and the best system by 3 CFM. Use the calculator on this page to determine how much CFM you need in your home. Any size home can use this math formula without fail, however keep in mind that the better the airflow, the more accurate it will be.
Considerations for Size
When sizing a complete home fan system, there are two extra factors to consider:
Location: A good system should perform well if it is positioned along a coast where the climate is cooler. The best system would make the most sense if placed in a desert region where the environment is quite hot during the day but cooler at night.
Ceiling Height: If the home’s ceilings are higher than 8 feet, make sure to size the system slightly larger to accommodate for the extra air volume inside the home.

THE DREAM VENTILATION SYSTEM
ZONED (Multi-Fan) SYSTEM
Whole House Fan + Whole House Fan
A multi-fan zoned system provides the homeowner with complete control over their ventilation and cooling requirements. When sizing a zoned system, the overall CFM requirements must be met by adding the cumulative CFM of all zoned units (not each individual fan). When the entire house needs to be cooled, all zoned fans can be turned on at the same time. A zoned system, on the other hand, allows for individual bedroom control as well as more precise airflow control.
THE PERFECT SAVINGS TANDEM
Whole House Fan + Attic Fan
Whole-house fans and attic fans are ideal partner goods because they serve two distinct functions for the same goal. Your whole-house fan will pre-cool your home the night before and assist in cooling the thermal mass of your home to keep it cooler the next day. During the hottest portions of the day, the attic fan will assist keep your attic cooler. The ultimate result might be significant savings! Say goodbye to the days of your air conditioner turning on and off, resulting in high utility bills.
